Magic Dam

If you are in the area of Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho then you should be prepared to see some incredible scenery. After you are done there, there are a lot of other cool sites to see too, including Magic Dam. You can access the dam on Highway 75, just west of the monument and east of Boise and Mountain Home. This is a unique looking dam and it is surrounded by interesting landscape that includes bare rolling hills and farmland.

-Magic Reservoir extends not only through Blaine County but also across the line into Camas County as well.

-Magic Reservoir extends six miles up the Big Wood River from the back side of the dam. It also extends two and a half miles up Camas Creek as well.

-The powerplant at Magic Dam is home to three turbine generators.

-The Magic Dam powerplant is has a power producing capacity of 9,000 kilowatts.
